Saw some Chestnuts in Coles today so bought some.

Have memories of Dad cooking them on top of the slow combustion stove when I was a child in England.  We all used to sit round the stove and nibble on them.

Was wondering how to cook them, so used the Cobb with the Cobb Frying Pan with the Cobb lid over.  Turned out brilliant, except the first batch I forgot that I was supposed to prick them, so Beryl alerted me to loud banging noises outside!  Exploding Chestnuts!

The second batch was pricked with a sharp paring knife and did not explode!

Used six of the Cocochef briquettes, there was so much fire left after the two batches of Chestnuts that Beryl wipped up a baked custard and that is now cooking.  To cook this we used the Wok as a Bain-marie with water in it.

Pics? Wot pics?  The batteries were flat!!!!!!!!!!! Embarrassed Angry

This is the bain-marie for the pudding, Wok fry pan from Woollies with the handle hacked off with water in it,  this is also brilliant for cooking a roost chook:
