This was given to me verbally and I cant believe the time has rolled around again to put in a reminder.

Take one or two packets of good quality pitted prunes (some use other dried fruits but I was told prunes)

Take one extremely clean or sterilised jar.

Put the prunes in the jar.

Cover the prunes with OP (and it must be OP) rum.

Put on the lid and put in the fridge for at least 6 weeks.

Top up the rum if the prunes absorb it all.

After six weeks drain off the liquid.  Drink it or use it on icecream.

Melt compound chocolate with about an ounce of copha gently. (I sometimes skip the copha but its better with it)

Dip the prunes into the chocolate and put on baking paper on a tray.

Pop the tray into the refrigerator until the chocolate is fully set.

Put into a sealed container and keep in the refrigerator until you need them.

Have with good coffee and an "Alcohol Warning" for anyone driving.

Cheesy

This is extremely nice also using fresh dates.  Not the dried out ones you get in packets but the real fresh ones you can buy loose..

Use dark chocolate as well.  Smiley

You could use other chocolate, but dark chocolate is always my preference.

Not sure if you can get it elsewhere but part of my Melbourne Fantasy Trip is a visit to Kokoblack for their excellent dark chocolates.

I can honestly say the weather was great, the shows were great, the hotel was ok (the pool was being reconstructed), the food was mostly great, the shopping interesting and the company good.  Couldnt really ask for more at my age.  Smiley

I phoned him a day or so after he took the break.
He was fine and just needed a bit of time out.
We are still in email contact.
Thanks for the prompt, I'll give him another call soon
