My mum gave me a box of about 500 slides taken in the early sixties.
I am after a projector so I can go through them and see what is worth saving on a CD.

Sooty, have you investigated what a slide scanner will do.

I've 'talked/emailed someone who did a whole bunch of family photos in slides and put them up on the Internet, given that the family spread out in the last 50 years or so.

My memory is sort of saying that you can do a lot in one scan, save them digitally, then view them enlarging to what you want.

Check it out.

LIke a digital camera, the options of how and what one can do have really expanded with digital technology.

Also, check out photo editing software.  Good editing software also helps in handling volume.  To my knowledge Adobe Photoshop Professional is still the best in the world.

I have PhotoShop Elements, which is the abridged version.  I'm quite happy with that.  I got it in 2006, so don't ask me prices.

But before you decide find some options.  & remember you can find very good digital technology review pages online.
