Folks a couple of books I would like to post on, the first "Rabbit On A Shovel", I do not have this but it is mentioned on the packaging of a set of lid lifters I brought in Deniliquin last week end, this book sounds like it may be an interesting yarn, is it worth pursuing and buying as the name sounds unique.

Stories of the Out Back - Bert Bolton, KB brought this for me, not a big book but certainly interesting, the forward is by Rolf Harris, and the stories are about 30 pages long each covering things like "The Ernest Giles Expedition", "Sister Ruth Bush Nurse" ect ect, has any one read this book.

I have that one.  Some really good reading and lots of great recipes.  I picked mine up for a few dollars on eBay but see that Abe Books (great place for buying books) have quite a few for sale as well http://www.abebooks.com/servlet/SearchResults?kn=rabbit+shovel&sts=t&x=0&y=0

Another great book I have is called Outback Cafe by Mark Olive.  Mark is a high profile indigenous l guy also known as 'The Black Olive'

He combines native foods with modern cooking and has come up with some fantastic recipes.  He had for some time a TV show on Community Television that I used to watch religiously.

Some recipes include:

Wallaby Lasagne
Tanami Apple Tartlet
Yabby Salad with Black Olive Dressing
Tandoori Crocodile Sticks
Grilled Pepper Roo in Sweet Rosella Jus
Smoked Emu Antipasto.

Gets the atste buds salivating don't it.
