Just wondering what everybody is cooking up this hot Australia Day?  104F  or 40C on my front Porch in the shade at 2pm.

I am just about to start cooking:

-  butterfly leg of lamb on the Cobb with roast potatoes and pumpkin

-  semi-dried tomato & olive damper (Coles Summer magazine) in a 12" Billmans with 21 heat beads over and 7 under (per COCIA heat calculator on the home page)

Bonnie is just now cooking up some savoury scones in the CO, can’t be more Australian than having scones for morning tea.

It maybe hot down your way KD but it is raining here, just had some thunder and there is more to come just looking at the radar. Very unusual for this time of the morning, thunder that is.

Having a quiet day but the flags are flying, the real Australian one and the Boxing Kangaroo.  Its very hot and the yachties are out in force, along with jet skiers, speed boats pulling floats etc.  Mid week I can go for a swim and seem to be the only person in the world  Cheesy but not on special holidays.  The NE is moderate but will possibly freshen and then the kite surfers come and look so beautiful as they skoot along the bay.

Sparky caught a couple of nice flathead last night and we will have them for dinner.  I tossed around the idea of making a damper or some sticky cinnamon buns which we enjoyed in Bali and will wait and see if it cools off more.  We have previously gone into Cronulla for the concert and fireworks but after being away we are enjoying  being home for the moment.

I hope you are all having a great day.

Then off to the Soccer, first time for us but got free tickets to Etihad Stadium, so we will check it out, Melb Victory verses a NZLD team.
