Over Easter and the following week Jude & I did a trip out to Cunnamulla with our daughter Bek, son in-law Terry (Tez) and our three little granddaughters. We took a few days to get out there and then spent a couple of days on a private property out there and then spent six days travelling back home via a different route. We all had a ball. I thought I would post up some photos from the first part of our trip.

It was the maiden trip for our recently purchased Triton dual cab. Tez & Bek bought our eighteen year old 80 series Cruiser and brought it along. We towed the caravan which the kids stayed in and Jude and I had a tent. Smiley

We couldn't get away until mid afternoon on the Thursday so we put in a few hours travel and spent the first night at a free camp ten minutes or so Dalby side of Kingaroy (see photo). It was a nice spot.

I am uploading photos direct so I don't think I can place them between text so I will do separate posts.

Next it was onto Bollon for a free camp on the banks of Wallam Creek. It is a nice spot and the Bollon Community supply free hot showers and toilets.

The next afternoon found us set up on the property. We spent a couple of days with me showing the family around.

1. We didn't really do it tough. Grin
2. Some Pelicans heading east.
3. Cloud formation.
4. Another shot of the clouds. I have never seen this type of cloud before. It was spectacular to see.

While lookin' about we came across a mob of young feral billy goats and Tez did his Russell Coight impersonation and ran and caught one of them for the girls to see up close. He's a lot younger than me. Grin

That afternoon we put the camp oven on while we were out and about and four hours later we had a nice feed of stew.

1. Tez and a couple of the girls with the little billy he caught.
2. A shot of an old wagon wheel.
3. Cookin' the stew in my late Dad's Ol' Oven.
4. Eatin' some good tucker.
5. The girls loved toasting marshmallows on the fire for dessert.

On the Tuesday after Easter we hit the road again and ended up staying at the Bollon free camp again for a couple of nights. It is a beautiful spot.

The first night we had roast lamb and vegies cooked in a older 12" Furphy oven I picked up last year. I can't say I'm the best cook around but no one complained. It was a top feed in my books. Smiley

1. Camp for a couple of days. We had to watch where we camped as there were more than a few dead limbs in the trees.
2. I made sure I got set up in time to take this shot of the creek as the sun set.
3. The lamb roast on the go.
4. Lookin' good! Now are those vegies roasted or steamed? Grin
5. Yummmm!!!
6. Yep, the girls like their Marshmallows.

The following day some jaffles, or jaffas as we use to call them when i was a kid, were on the lunch menu. For afternoon smoko it was a damper made with coconut milk. We had a bit of a breeze and one side got a bit hotter than the other but it was still tops in my book.

1. The girls looking intently to see if they had caught any lobbies but not a one. Sad
2. Jaffles in my Furphy double.
3. Tez checking his toasting skills.
4. Lookin' close to done.
5. Warm damper with butter and Golden Syrup. Does it get any better than that? Cheesy
6. It sure didn't last very long. Grin

Well that will do for now as I don't want to bore you all. Anyway I took hundreds of photos and those are just a few I have worked so far. We are heading away for a week on Monday so I might get to post up a few more from the trip after I get back.

Thanks for your comments Derek and Rufzgutz.
