Hi folks...Back again - been a while --anyway.
Had my cousin stay for a few nights after a 19 year gap in both our lives. He said that seeing I had done so much cooking for him while he was here that he would like me to try his spag bol recipe. Well I have had bol from many parts of the world but his very simple recipe was great and easy to do if you wish to give the kids something quick when camping. I will not alk about the spaghetti as I think you all know how to do that so only the sauce.
Ingredients:
1 x medium onion chopped fine
500 g lean fine mince
1 x 500g jar of Dolmio Basil pasta suace
1 x teaspoon Thyme
250ml cheap cab sav.
Method:
Brown onions and mince in small frypan or the camp oven
Once brown chuck the rest in and reheat until combined etc.
Serve over spag and dump some nice sharp parmesan cheese on top.
This sauce will keep for about 3 months so you can freeze and take camping or use as you wish at home.
Grrr!!!
