Ok ok mate you're a bit impatient. Smiley

Well after leaving the Broke COG we changed our minds as to which direction we were going to go and decided to travel along the Bylong Way. We have been staying at the Bylong Recreation Grounds for a few nights as it has been raining here.

Yesterday I went into the little store come service station here as I had done the day before. However this time I noticed a doorway leading to another part of the building. Looking through the doorway and down a few stairs my eyes nearly popped out as I spied a HUGE piece of cast iron. It was a 20" Furphy. Shocked

I couldn't get down the stairs quick enough to have a look see. It was in great condition but rather ugly as most Furphy's are. Grin I asked the lady in the shop if it was for sale and she said she didn't think so but the owners would be back in tomorrow and to ask them.

Well this morning I wandered over and was thinking that it probably wasn't for sale and if it was my pockets wouldn't be deep enough.

Anyway I went in and asked if it was for sale and nearly fell over with surprise when she said she would sell it but she wanted $250 for it because it was a big one. A short time later I staggered out with my latest prized piece of cast iron. Smiley

When I got it back to the caravan I thought about something Rory (Saltbush Bill) said to me at the Broke COG that went something like this "You don't use a big oven much but they are great to look at". I believe I agree with him.  Cheesy Grin

My wife Jude said I have now spent my pocket money for the trip - Yes dear. Roll Eyes

Anyway here are some photos.

Jeff

Now there's a happy looking Bloke. Good ovens do have a way of turning up in strange places when you least expect it.
Well done Mate.

A quick edit of this post.
I think I said this not long back "Dont give up Chally, you just have to keep looking and looking.
I seem to go for ages without finding any worth buying, Then often more than one turns up in a matter of weeks."
