Ham steaks with pineapple and melted cheese was a regular budget meal when we had 6 mouths to feed.

Thought that I would try similar using pork steaks, light syrup pineapple slice and reduced fat cheese.

The 8" oven that I used didn't have a lip on the lid, so couldn't brown the cheese like the ones In my earlier years.

Still a quick and simple camp meal so a few pics of my experiment.

And a couple more pics.

A nice dish, but wasn't as tender as I had hoped for. Will try again with a different method with the steak. Any suggestions?

Looked good Rufz! It would have looked even better if the photos weren't blurred no doubt. Tongue

I use a gas torch to brown things. A great little gadget.

You are right Jeff. I cheated even more than normal setting my phone on a low resolution so that I didn't have to  reduce. When posting I noticed that a couple were less than 50 kb. Roll Eyes

I might  try taking them at full size again. What app do you use?

What else do you use your torch for Cactus? It would definitely brown my cheese the way I would like It.
