Hi everyone,

I am gearing up to head off on Friday 04th December with my daughter and dog to Uluru.

The plan is to go from Australind in the Southwest of WA, to Karalee Rock and Dam on our 1st day.

Karalee Rock and Dam apparently have a free camp site, but you must be self sufficient, which i am anyway, and dogs are allowed.

Then from Karalee Rock and Dam campsite we are off to Laverton Caravan Park, where dogs are also allowed, but i have to pay for the night. Anyone know of any free camp sites around the Laverton area at all please?

Sunday will see us leave Laverton and head to Warburton, then on the Monday we leave Warburton and arrive at Uluru at the camp ground, which i have heard is sensational and dogs are allowed.

Does anyone have any more experience on this please?

Thank you for your time and patience, i do really appreciate it Smiley

Sorry I can't help with any details, but you certainly sound like you have it planned well. Travel safely and please keep us posted on your adventures. Don't forget that a picture is worth a thousand words.

Debs.
We have spent quite a lot of time around Laverton chasing gold.
Its an ok CP there, (never stayed there) but for that matter the pub is a good watering hole (very well run) as is the coffee at the info. centre.
The best camp spots are in the East, but probably a bit further out of town than you would prefer.
However, about 15km. before Laverton there is a good rest area on the left over looking a sometimes dry lake.
The public loo in town is a bit "how you goin" but very clean at the info.
The local store is inclined to open and close without notice, suggest you stock up in Leonora.
Have your travel permit in order and let the Laverton cops (most friendly) know your travel schedule.
Its going to be bloody hot, so make sure you have all the water you can carry.
If I can help more, please just ask. Smiley
