Seeking interest for a COG in SEQ early next year, possibly the last weekend in January or first weekend in February as school holidays will be over and camps should be quiet.

Looking at a camp near Aratula called Yarramalong.    The place has a good amenities block with hot showers, limited tank water and no power.  Fish in the creek.  Cost is $10 a night per person.  http://www.yarramalongcamping.com.au/

I have camped there before with our family and really enjoyed it.  http://www.aussiecampovenforum.com/cgi-bin/yabb2/YaBB.pl?num=1368791747

Post up if you are interested or have any other ideas for early 2016.

Doubt I will make it to that one Derek, Toowoombah Swap is on the 1st weekend of Feb, Getting things ready for the swap will keep me busy for a week or two before hand.
The location sounds good and Id be keen to see another COG get off the ground in that area.

I'm hanging out to get to one of these, but so far the timing has not been in our favour. We generally try to plan our trips to coincide with an event. Unfortunately, this is another that does not fit in with our travel plans. They certainly look like a lot of fun and we really enjoy our motor home gatherings where a fire pit is available and we all try to out do each other with recipes and advice. (Bullshit Baffles Brains). A pot luck dinner usually happens with everyone enjoying all meals prepared. Good fun and even better tucker!!

I just had a thought.

Is there a reason why we always have our COG's over a weekend.  From the last few pretty well 100% of people are no longer committed to the workforce.

Thinking of Rory already being here for the Toowoomba swap meet and perhaps others going to it, should we consider the few days after the weekend of the swap meet.

Food for thought.

Thats not a bad idea Derek, some people could kill two birds with one stone and attend both events.
I still doubt that I would make it though as I wouldn't have the room to fit camp ovens and other gear in as well as all the junk I cart to the swap.
