I expect this recipe is already on here however it needs reviving.

I developed it specifically for cooking in a Bedourie camp oven when I was doing camp oven cooking demos years ago.  I even bought a vintage round muffin tray from the US to make them.

Cooked these today and will be dessert for us for three nights.

Enjoy!!!

Ingredients
3/4 cup chopped dates
2/3 cup water
1 teaspoon bicarbonate soda
1 teaspoon cinnamon
40 grams butter
1/3 cup sugar
1 egg
3/4 cup self raising flour

Sauce
1/2 cup brown sugar
100 grams butter
3/4 cup cream

Method Puddings
Place dates and water in small pan and bring to the boil. Remove from heat and stir in bicarbonate soda. When settled stir in cinnamon

Cream butter and sugar, beat in egg and fold through flour then mix through date mix. Spoon into lined muffin cups.  Then into 180 degree preheated oven for 25 to 30 minutes.

Method Sauce
Chop butter and put together with cream and brown sugar into a small pan. Stir over heat until boiled then simmer until thickened slightly

To serve place pudding on plate, pour over sauce then add dollop cream on top.
