Our new Weber arrived in the mail, but I am still waiting on a fer extra bits for it.
I have ordered the side tables from weber but after a bit of research I think I should have bought a set of stainless-steel tables of Kaon.

https://www.kaon.com.au/stainless-steel-side-tables-to-suit-the-weber-baby

When the Genuine Weber tables arrive, I will fit them for now anyhow.
I have a also bought box of the BBQ skins as I thought it is new, so why not try them from new.

My first mod, it is a quick connect for the hose to the weber, I have this type of fitting on all my gas appliances in the camper so I can use any gas hose on it when camping.
Now I just now need to learn how to get the best out of it.
The first roast was ok but I think I should have kept it on a high setting for a little longer as the crackle was only just there. Sory no photo of the finished roast.

Muzz I think it will be just a matter of getting the right temp and time, my first try using it worked well I thought, just not enough crackle.
This Kaon company make a few bits for the Weber just not side tables, I might look into their roasting tray one day.

The number of us with Webers now we could just about run a Weber cooking challenge.   Grin Grin Grin Grin

John, what advantage do you see with the stainless side tables as opposed to the Weber plastic ones?  I have had the plastic ones going on ten years now and never had any issues with them.

Can you give me some detail on the gas quick connect please?  I like that idea for home where I have a few different gas appliances in my outdoor cooking area.

John, with your pork not crackling.

Compare the two photos below.  On mine is the genuine Weber convection tray and as you can see it is far smaller that your foil one.  I would suggest that yours being larger could be restricting the flow of heat around the roast and that is why your crackling did not set.

Try cutting the foil to just a fraction bigger than the trivet.

Cheers

I bought the fittings through Ebay, but I have also bought them through my local gas and camping shop in Atherton.
https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/115519860701
From what I have found on line, the stainless tables are stronger, also can be packed away while the BBQ is warm and not that would worry me, I think.
I now have the Weber foil trays as well, so I will be trying them out the next time. I do like the Kaon tray as well as it would be less waste when camping.
