I came out well, I covered it with aluminium foil for about half of the cook then left it off to finish it, so the sauce thickened a bit.
I have now used the dried beans a few times in other dishes as well.

Well John, that chicken recipe is going to be a regular here.  I did add some oregano to the sauce and I also used a can of beans..

Really, really nice.
