Traditional style Cornish Pasty for dinner.  Just equal quantities of diced meat, swede, potato, and onion with a sprinkle of salt and pepper in a pastry case.

Served with a salad.

If you are wondering that is just plain old ginger beer in the glass.   Smiley

There is something nice about a pastry wrap.

These ‘pastys’ had left over beef madras and rice in them.   Smiley

I am still experimenting with putting different things in a pasty shaped pastry case.  Using Pampas Shortcrust Pastry.  Finding it holds together better than puff pastry.

Tonights dinner was steak & kidney with some greens.  Maggie keeps reminding me that we need our ‘shrubbery’.   Tongue

That is interesting. I've been thinking of making some pies but the traditional way. You've opened my eyes. We recently bought a 1/4 of beef, as well as 1/2 lamb & 1/4 of pork so the freezers need the strain taken off. Make a few of those & drop them back in the freezer for quick meals. I've been getting some hints that I haven't cooked for a while.
