Yesterday I bought myself a new metal detector

Its an Minelab Equinox 600

Spent most of today playing with setting and setup

makes my Xterra 305 old fashion........but still keeping it

Its a great way of combining an outback lifestyle.....gold detecting, fishing and of course Camp Oven Cooking. Cool

Over the last six years we have travelled over 115000km. detecting in all states except Tas.  Shocked

Not always successful, but the enjoyment of winching out of bogs, wind and flies, horizontal rain, waking startled in the night by a mob of braying feral donkeys stampeding round the camp all enriches the experience.  Grin

Recently spent a day with a metal detecting group...down south at Yankallila .... some say could be bit embarrassing playing with big boys toys...$5,000 or more
