We were wandering around an Adelaide institution "Paramount Brown" sort of a cross between an industrial disposals store and and a hardware store.

I couldn't resist a couple of items - both were $9 each.

Yet to be seasoned...

I remember the first time I ever saw that burger griller and I thought then they would be pretty good.

There is an old video clip somewhere that showed one of the US Presidents, not sure if it was Regan or the older Bush using one over an open fire place indoors.  They are very popular in the US.

Our old member Kingsthorpe David imported quite a few Rome products to Australia before they were commercially available here.

Couple of good item there.  Well done.

Thanks Derek - for $9 how could I walk past?

I have done the first pass of seasoning.

Looks like they'll come up OK.

Getting the paraffin off was an effort. (I am glad I read the instructions that said they were paraffin coated)

I like that burger griller.
Might have just enough room in the camping box to chase one up.

Someone living in Adelaide could buy for you and on post.

Not for me Brian.  Recently sold all my irons apart from the one we regularly use in the motorhome.

I am downsizing.

I didn't notice that.

I suppose a package three feet long with a lump of cast iron at one end may be uneconomical to post...

On the breadmaker version, yes. On the burger maker they are pinned with a one way roll pin - that is to say the hole for the pin is blind.

That's why the handles were still on when I seasoned them.

Thanks.  Back in the late 90’s they were hitting David up $40 each for postage from the US.
