Did something different today that didn’t involve cooking.   Smiley

Our metal panel garage door faces the western sun and the garage gets extremely hot during the day so decided to insulate it.

I bought the insulation through a company called Thermadoor.  Sixteen panels all up and each one had to be cut to size by hand.

Believe it or not, apart from the height, each one of those panels was a different size.

Be interesting to see now how much difference it makes.  I want to put a second fridge in there.

First photo is of just the top panel fitted.

Have gone all out and now getting an aircon installed in there on Tuesday.   Roll Eyes

On the lookout for a cheap fridge now that I can, with a few modifications, use for cheese, salami and cured meats.

I changed this thread and moved it here as in reality it was always my intention to look at getting a fridge in the garage although the main reason was half of the garage has been turned into a cutout area for Maggies craft work.

Been some progress this week and the aircon has been installed and we are now decluttering the area and I have a corner for a fridge.

This is the next project, building a fridge.

Rory put me onto this video.  The concept is to be able to control temperatures and humidity inside the fridge.

Soon I will be looking for a fridge but may not be until the new year now.

When my son was here over Christmas I was explaining about setting up a fridge for my salami and cheese cave and he said he would keep an eye out for one on the northside of Brisbane for me.

Here we are a couple of days later and he found a nice medium sized frost free Fischer Paykal that originally came as a pair with a freezer.

Been talking to the owners this evening and to cut a long story short my son is picking it up for me in the morning and to top it all off it’s costing me nothing.  The old couple like many are downsizing and happy for it to go to another home.

It does have glass shelves which I will be doing away with as you need full air circulation.  Some wire frames to be made.

Here are some photos.  As of tonight they hadn’t even cleaned it out.   Grin Grin Grin Grin

Only thing now is the son is off on holiday Saturday for two weeks so got to wait to get it.   Sad

Forgot to add that the fridge has a 367 litre capacity so a nice compact size.

Now I have to find me the right price temperature controller, humidity controller, humidifier and dehumidifier.  The search is on.   Smiley
